Wimereux - Golf

 

This delightful and relatively undiscovered coastal town lies 3 miles north of Boulogne-sur-mer. It offers delightful food and wine, an enviable beach, great ambiance, and all within an easy ride of Boulogne or Calais. It has plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels. With its promenade and beach huts it retains much of the flavour of the early 20th Century.

 

Wimereux Golf Course

Wimereux Golf  Course (18 holes 6655 yards par 72) was designed  by Sir Guy Campbell & C.K.Hutchinson in 1807 and is one of the oldest courses in the region. This golf course is a links type course overlooking the windswept English Channel.  The fairways are very exposed with few trees and on a windy day this makes for some tricky golf. The clubhouse, is welcoming and offers a good menu with a  fine range of wines.
